Hi Shani,

Fresh back from Costa Rica and we have had an excellent holiday. Seen loads of the country, its people and animals.

Highlights were in particular Corcovado, Pirate Cove was a great place to stay, and we saw plenty of animals down there. Suzanne and Nelson at Pirates Cove were particularly helpful. We altered slightly the trip into the Park, which involved a longer boat trip to Sirena Station, but we saw Dolphins on the way and plenty in the Park, including Tapir, all 4 types of Monkey and numerous Birds.

Monteverde was wet, but again fun. We did an option tour into the Monteverde Cloud Forest with a guide who was introduced to us by the Lady at Cabanos Los Pinos, who had been seeing Quetzals over the past week. True to form, he found one for us late in the day and not a brilliant view, but seen he was!

We had a clear view of the volcano of Arenal. It also gave a grumble just as we were leaving – awesome.

El Parador at Manuel Antonio was an excellent Hotel, great pool. Eating in was a bit boring as it lacked atmosphere and quite pricey, but there are many great places to go to including El Avion, restaurant built around a real plane. Really excellent Lobster fettuccine, salad and glass of wine for $20. Great beaches down there and the small park is excellent for monkeys and Sloths – saw 5 including mother and baby in about 300 metres.

Tortuguero was a great place for animals, and Mwamba Lodge very good. Another highlight was to witness a turtle hatching – over 100 of the little things paddling their way down to the sea - magic moment.

All transfers went to plan and without delay, which was very comforting.

November is not too bad a month to go, despite almost daily rain, we were able to do many things and saw just about all the country has to offer, it was also very clean and the people very friendly, and we have also got a bit of suntan.

Hi Shani,

The holiday has been absolutely wonderful – I have walked my legs off – had so much exercise – but good. Unfortunately a lot of it was done in heavy rain and it was difficult to get things to dry especially the shoes etc. but I managed with the help of hair dryers etc.

I am glad that I asked you to make the holiday an active one and I am so glad that I am fit! I doubt I could have done it otherwise.

Costa Rica is such a beautiful country - and the people are so very nice. Pura Vida is the expression I think which sums it all up. Tell me if I am wrong!!

Thanks again for all your help in getting me there and for making it such an enjoyable trip. I think you did an absolutely wonderful job in getting it all put together for me and I am grateful for all your help.
