Arenal Hanging Bridges

Arenal Hanging Bridges is one the most beautiful environmentally-friendly projects in Costa Rica. Located in front of the Arenal Volcano and within the corridor followed by migratory birds between North and South America, the project's trails and bridges bring you close to the birds, flowers, and lush vegetation of the primary rainforest. With safe and easy access, the trails allow you to walk right into a beautiful forest. The imposing hanging bridges overlook a dense canopy with volcano views looming in the background.

Arenal Hanging Bridges offers the following exciting tours:

Hanging Bridge Circuit: Take all the time you desire to observe vegetation and wildlife on your own. The complete circuit takes two hours to complete at a slow pace.

Early Bird Watching Tour: 50 to 60 species can be observed at the Arenal Hanging Bridges. The tourbegins at 6 am. (Shuttles are available at 5.30 am from La Fortuna, and at 5.45 am from hotels along the way.)

Daytime Naturalist Guided Tour: An expert guide will introduce you to the extremely rich biodiversity of our rainforest. He will spot wildlife with a powerful group telescope and binoculars. (duration: 2.5 hours)

Night Walk Tour: See frogs, insects, small mammals, and sleeping birds with a Coleman rechargeable lantern. After all, sixty percent of the area's wildlife is nocturnal. The tour begins at 6 pm. (Shuttle are available from La Fortuna at 5.30 pm and from hotels along the way at (5.45 pm.)

Selvatura Walkways

Selvatura's Treetop Walkways is a 1.9 mile (approximately 3 kilometer ) trail that crosses through the Monteverde Costa Rica Cloud Forest in which visitors can walk through eight different bridges from various lengths ranging between 150 feet ( 50 meters ) up to 510 feet ( 170 meters ) and altitudes ranging between 36 feet (12 meters) up to 180 feet (60meters).

Each of the bridges feature a five foot width, the widest ones in the country, and also a capacity of up to 80 people per bridge making them both the longest and strongest bridge system in Costa Rica and in the Cloud Forest.

The treetop walkways are suitable for people of all ages and physical condition. Guided and self guided tours may be booked in advance, and the duration of the tour is usually between 1.5 and 2 hours.
